A metal eyewear frame is made with 16 individual metal components. Even a bio acetate frame contains 8, this gives the temples their structure and functionality. More often than not, each of these components are made in a varying countries and get shipped around the world for assembly.

We wanted to do things differently.

When sourcing our metals and hardware, we set ourselves the challenge of finding the best Italy had to offer. By choosing to exclusively use local manufactures, we’ve been able to reduce our impact, streamline our supply chain and make a final product that is handmade in Italy, from start to finish.

Between our lens profile, nose pads, hinges and temples, each material has been selected exclusively from local suppliers, and chosen for their durability and performance qualities.

At the heart of our metal frames is Monel, used to make strong yet ductile, corrosion-resistant lens profiles and covered in three layers of hypoallergenic coating.

The stainless steel used for our hinges that provide smooth, reliable movement, join seamlessly to Alpaca which we use for the temple arms, to bring flexibility and a lightweight feel that adjusts effortlessly to your face.

We are meticulous about our sourcing, and the fact that all of these materials travel such short distances to our metals workshop is something we are extremely proud of. To experience our collection of metal frames, order a home try-on, or visit us in store.
