Adorno

This week we're admiring the digital gallery Adorno. An online platform that celebrates contemporary design and bold designers who have an unorthodox and eccentric approach to design. 

It is quite literally impossible to not be in awe when exploring Adorno's gallery. Their collection features a wide range of art and furniture, many of which have been upcycled and made from biomaterial such as the "Lichen Leftovers" by Louise Hederstrom which is made from the scraps of discarded lichen from sound absorbers. 

Many of the pieces featured on Adorno seem to boggle the mind as to how they have been curated and constructed, none more so than the "Molecule Chair" by Nejc Prah. This bewildering piece of furniture is held together with a hidden steel structure which contributes towards its shape and standing. 

Whilst it may appear that these items are merely abstract and not functional, that certainly isn't the case. Many of the items listed on Adorno perfectly blur the lines of functional art. The "Transmit Receive" audio bench by Andreason & Leibel is the perfect example. The kaleidoscopic style piece serves as a bench and speaker which also creates moving visual effects. 

We're certainly excited to see what else Adorno is set to feature within their digital gallery in the near future.
