Draff
Draff was founded by French-born Dundee based designer and fabricator Aymeric Renoud.
‘Draff’ is the damp remains of malt after the brewing process from whiskey, beer and gin making. Once the grains have been fermented, they are no longer needed. Aymeric collects these remains and dries them out, then combines them with raw ingredients to create a material that is durable, sustainable and unique.
The perfect combination of draff and a few other ingredients create an innovative material that makes use of another industry's waste. The final outcome can be used as furniture, decorative cladding and a variety of different design projects.
